Oh...I actually said.... "Blades look 100% legit ...at first look they seem to be exactly like pol silvers minus outer packaging..."

I was commenting purely about the way the blade looks, I hadn't shaved with it at the time...I still haven't decided how they differ from pol silvers tho...the thing is,
Im trying them in a Wolfman 1.45 SB which really is a remarkable razor...so it's highly likely the excellence of the razor is shaping my opinions
on the blade.

Im going to run a pol silver in that razor next...believe me, I'll be delighted if the Wizzies turn out to be better.

Not you either Big Grin It was BPMan or something like that on page 17, but it's all good. Each person can only go by their experience.

Well, he appears to have a sense of humor, so you must be right.

I've been enjoying this thread very much. I'm one of those outliers who's fairly agnostic about DE blades. (Sacrilege, of course!) I've been inspired, however, to buy 250 blades from the dude in Oregon (after all, he's a "neighbor"), even though I'll never get through another 250 blades. And these are definitively the most expensive DE blades I've ever bought. And I've never used this blade before. Yet, here I am.

Living on the edge
Someone who ordered these blades contacted me after receiving them. He noticed that
the packs that hold the 10 blades are open at one end and asked if he should be concerned.
In my opinion, it's not an issue at all...seems like the glue has just dried out....what is important is
that the individual blade sleeves are well sealed... and that's all that matters.

There's also a distinct smell that accompanies these blades if you hold them close enough.
It's a smell I associate with dusty, musty, dank and dingy warehouses where things just lie around for decades
without being disturbed. Ive taken to spraying a fine mist of ethyl alcohol on each blade when I crack it open.
After a minute or so I rinse it off, hand strop it and it's good to go.

My Wizamet blades came today, from the ebay seller in Oregon. Arrived quite quickly. No odor to the packaging, and everything was sealed as it should have been. I counted the packs, 25 packs of 10 as advertised.

The shave did not impress me. I used my WR2 DC 1.15 OC WTG, 1.25 SB ATG as usual. Two passes, maybe a bit of buffing on the chin (toughest spot for me)

These are comparable IME to the Polisilvers I've got. Not saying they are the same with different packaging, only that it was a similar feel, and result.

Yes, BBS ... but not as sharp/smooth as a Feather on my particular face/neck. No nicks/weepers.

I'm going to try the same blade in a WR1 .94 DC tomorrow. Following that I will try a new Wizamet in another razor, maybe a Blackbird, a Karve. I'll give them a good run for the money, but they are not the greatest thing since sliced bread after one try.

I hope to have a better experience as time goes on. Just telling it like it is.

JimmyH, your impressions strike a chord. I bought some Wizamets from Emilio in Spain. Took the first blade up to 10 shaves in one razor, now doing the same with another blade in another razor.

First of all, I use most blades for 8–15 shaves anyway, so longevity was never an issue to begin with. For me, a lot of blades begin to perform better after 2–3 shaves, and that has been true of the Wizamet Iridium Supers, too.

While the Wizamets have been fine blades so far, I haven’t found a striking difference when comparing to some of my other favorites. In a way, I’ve been disappointed and relieved at the same time. Smile
Whenever I go to shave, I assume there’s someone else on the planet shaving, so I say “I’m gonna go shave, too.”

Matsilainen , Well needless to say, I wanted to love the Wizamets, but it is what it is. I'm hopeful that my first impression changes with use. I've often noted that I don't know whether I have a 'tough' beard because I've never shaved anyone but myself.

Reading posts where guys say they get great shaves with a Feather AS-D2, Dorco, or Derby blades, that they get many, many shaves out of this or that blade, leads me to believe I do have an extremely tough beard.

At best I'm fortunate if I can get 3 'comfortable' shaves out of a blade. OTOH, because of that I tend to toss blades after the second or third shave, even if they are still fairly decent performers. Anyway, thanks for your input.
