Never followed the kickstarter or version 1 just got their finished razor. Phenomenal. I never thought a shave could be as close/closer and smoother than the Timeless .68 & .95 but it is to me. The 2 extra holes in the baseplates for the cap stems ensures as tight a fit as my Wolfman. No blade play or chatter. I don't know of another razor with this design?

Switching/flipping plates (if needed) between passes is seamless. No adjustable moving parts like in a Progress to loosen or break. Just a tight fit and perfect shave every time.

What a razor!

Max,

Which plate on the Rockwell do you seem to use the most? I seem to be in the #4 or #5 area.  Cannot decide.

Did you go with OC, Scalloped or SB on the Timeless baseplates?  I do like the way the baseplate holds the blade closer to the edge on the bottom. (I do not own a Timeless - just by looking at pics)

Thanks.

SB scalloped.68 & .95 Timeless. Not really into open combs.
6S:
Mon-Fri favorite is plate 4 & 2. 5 or 6 for multi day growth.

For me the ideal razor is the 1948-50 Gillette Aristocrat. I shave everyday and this razor was designed in an era where most men did the same. If I shaved less frequently I might prefer something else. I have used numerous razors that have been mentioned here save the high end Stainless ones. Not really a bad one in the bunch but the Crat works for me on many different levels. This is a great time to be a DE shaver with so many options in all price ranges.

So, here's my top favorites/recommendations out of those that I own:

1) Charcoal Level 2 straight bar w/ hammered handle; I also love levels 1 & 3 as well, in both OC and CC... the best razor for me!
2) Timeless .68 OC w/ scalloped top cap in SS
3) Timeless Bronze straight bar
4) Rockwell 6S
5) Colonial General aluminum and brass SE razors (I prefer the aluminum though)
6) Above the Tie S1 slant
7) Ikon 102 slant

Here's my wish list:

1) Charcoal high polished Stainless Steel in level 2 w/ hammered handle (also in high polished SS)
2) Timeless Titanium .95 straight bar (but I don't want the matte finish, I want it in a high polish finish)
3) Paradigm Titanium 2 polished version
4) Blackland Blackbird straight bar, polished
5) Wolfman regular .67 gap in straight bar, SS polished (or Brass or Titanium)... I almost left off the Wolfman because I'm so over it! There's way too many great razors (better performing razors) that are out there and actually available. I think it's beyond ridiculous that there's folks trying for years to buy a razor. Personally, I'd buy one if available but I'm not looking to be on some 2 year waiting list and I'm not checking his site daily hoping to hit the lottery. I'm also not buying a used one at a higher price.

I highly highly recommend the Charcoal level 2 straight bar... It is the best combination of smoothness and efficiency that I've ever encountered... Usually one is compromised for improvement over the other (For ex. More smoothness but less efficient or vice versa)... This razor nails these two traits, as they're balanced so well. I feel the Timeless .68 OC is a great example of this as well.

My favorite razor has been the ATT S1, but I like the Timeless SB .95 just as much as far as high end. Low end I enjoy my 48-50 Aristocrat with a feather blade just as much as I do the high end razors I have. Then again I love my 40s superspeed and get the same result. It's great to have so many choices.

I would certainly recommend a Charcoalgood razor. The Level 3 shaves on par with my most favorite BlackBirds

I don't collect DE's. I have a travel DE, a shower DE, and my primary.

I wouldn't mind switching the travel DE's head with my primary's and replace my primary with the R41. Everyone talks about how great the Rockwell is, and I'm sure it is, but the idea of having extra pieces laying around only to get lost kind of bugs me.
