Wilkinson Sword Blades - Ouch

Too late, I started a thread, let the games begin.

Well, I've already given my thoughts here and it starts with a Z.

Indian Wilky has been my worst. The ones in the black plastic tuck were really nice though. Not sure if those are German or English.

The German ones are terrible. At least for me.

Crazy the difference a different razor makes. I picked up some VdH blades from the local market just to give them a try. Used them in an R41 and they peeled skin. In a R89 they were actually Ok if not a favorite.

I'm with you Marko. They are the worst blades I've ever tried. I'd rather use a Derby!

So weird! Got 5 Derbys gratis with something I bought, recently. Didn't care for them in an EJ DE89, but fired one up this morning in a Merkur 34c HD and got a splendid 2 pass DFS out of it.

Incoming today are 2 x 12 different blades from tryablade.com. I'm sure my head will be going in circles by the time I work my way through them.

Yes it definitely is weird that different razors can change the qualities of blades so much. For example, the Rapira Swedish Supersteel was pretty good in my Parker 22r as I remember. This morning I put a fresh one in my PAA Name Taker and it was kinda tuggy right from the start. I too am about to place another order from tryablade to get some more that I haven't used. The quest for the perfect blade continues...

I have had many, many vintage and modern razors and a lot of different blades, but I have finally settled on my Feather AS-D2 and I am using up my last few Schick Plus Platinums and Gillette 'Swedes,' which will leave me with just Wilkinson Falcons, London Bridges, and Light Brigades. The Bridges and Brigades to me are identical and in my individual experience are the very best blades in my razor. The Falcons are just a slight step lower in quality but still better than regular vintage Swords and definitely much better than the modern Wilkinsons made in Germany.

The old made in England Wilkinson blades are one of the best I've tried.

I see that the members from 2015 don’t like these blades.
But I had a very good shave.
I would say that I got my money’s worth.
