For sure put it on your list for the next bulk order! I'm in Canada and I suspect shipping is a little cheaper to here than it is to Singapore but its still enough that I want to make sure my order is sufficient to justify the shipping cost.

It started shipping Monday. If you haven't recieved a tracking send Sri a pm some people have put wrong email addresses which is why they haven't gotten it. He was shipping in order of the way orders were sent so first ordered first shipped etc

Your order was shipped April 26 and the ETA for delivery is today per the USPS tracker. I sent you the tracker info in a PM.

The email address on the order was missing one letter in the domain. The shipping notification came back undelivered.

whollykaw I'm really enjoying the Wholly Kaw soaps and aftershave toners that I have - so far Chypre Rose Concerto, Washington's Blend and Monaco Royale with toner only in the first two. The performance is outstanding and the scent incredible. I've been considering adding to my WK collection, specifically Cuero Oscuro but I'm hesitant because of previous experiences with leather scent in soaps. I don't mind leather and actually like it in moderation but there was this one soap (Out West Tiki Bar) that just leathered my face off - it was like you were in a tannery. Now I realize that that one was an extreme example but what I'd like to ask you is, how strong and/or prominent would you say the leather is in Cuero Oscuro? Yes I know, lather is the first word in the name of the soap but names don't always tell the story. And one other question - whats the story behind the name of your company and the unique spelling?
Thanks,
Marko

Thank you Marko for the feedback. I am elated to know that you are enjoying your purchase from a scent and performance perspective.

Cuero Oscuro -- This is a departure from our other scents preceding Cuero Oscuro. The short answer is it is leather forward but the leather scent is muted with vetiver and coffee. The coffee lends a nice touch to the overall blend with the other notes.

Long answer -- As you would know the scent of leather in most products is from fragrance oils that are made using aroma chemicals. Instead of using a pre-blend leather fragrance oil, I worked with perfumers and tracked down the aroma chemicals. And constructed the scent of leather that is used in the scent blend of Cuero Oscuro. That is just one component of the blend.

Talking about aroma chemicals it is important to note that these chemical compounds have their own unique CAS (Chemical Abstracts Service) numbers. Even EOs have CAS numbers. For example lavender EO is CAS# 8000-28. We use CAS numbers when we buy these oils, compounds etc so that we do not get distracted by fancy schmancy trade names. CAS numbers are googleable, if there is a word, in a search engine.

So when someone wants to sell Bulgarian Lavender EO, I would like to know the CAS#. Knowing the CAS# enables provenance tracking and authenticity of the oil or chemical compound.

Story behind our name -- when I started making soaps and shaving soaps in particular I used to send out samples to people who were shaving the traditional way. The products that they used were Williams mug soap, some shave sticks from Europe and creams. The testers were older and discovered the joys of wet shaving long before I was introduced to wet shaving.

A few of those testers kept saying "holy cow", "holy shit", "this shit is good" etc. as part of their initial feedback. Now I am not that creative when it comes to domain names. I picked holy cow as the name and of course any combination of the words holy cow were all taken. A friend suggested a creative spelling of holy cow and that how the name WhollyKaw was born.

Thank you BoarderPhreak Smile. Your order will be processed before the week is out.

We are working overtime to get the shipments out the door. Yesterday we had an issue with the shipping software and we lost most of the day before the closing hours of USPS. This was an issue experienced by e-commerce sites who use ShipStation so the issue was not confined to us.

Thank you for the thorough and informative response - its always good when I can learn something. I think I'll probably just jump right in and get some Cuero Oscuro on my next order. I mean its not really that much money to risk is it, and based on what I've experienced of your scents, the odds of not liking it are slim.

Thanks for the name story too - its funny the directions that the new digital technology pushes people isn't it.

Thank you,
Marko
