Marko has had me interested in the Amber Bomba and I had it in my cart with Tim Jr but have so far caught myself and resisted due to an abundance of soap already..........trying to be strong....

whollykaw  Sri, what is it about crème fraiche that works so well in this soap?  I know you’ve been working with various milk ingredients but this one is special.

Thank you and glad you found the new base exceptional.  One of the primary goals for the new base was to reduce the amount of water used in the formulation.  Less water makes the soap concentrated and a little goes a long way.  Second we do the fermentation for 48 hours to get the raw material of crème fraîche. Fermentation brings out acids that is good for exfoliation, moisturization, etc. such as lactic acid and other goodies that are great for our skin.  It also makes it more thicker and creamier.  You would get exceptional post shave too that is a direct result of these processes.

Appreciate the question too!!
Thanks for the reply! Would it be possible that I could smell just a hint of fermented crème fraiche in the lather or is it my imagination and the power of suggestion??

Also with regards to the Siero base, maybe I’m mistaken but it doesn’t necessarily follow that more expensive ingredients will result in a superior product. Innovation and ingenuity can result in a superior product at lower ingredient price point. That is often the goal in any case isn’t it? Faster, better, cheaper.

There is not much scent to the raw material in its native form. I have the unscented version for my testing purposes and it has zero scent.

I applaud Sri for actually decreasing costs while still delivering extremely high quality products to the community. Much appreciated in an environment of high  inflation and possible recession.  I have used both Amber Bomba and Tim Jr. Performance that exceeds my expectations and scents that are irresistible, imo. I will have both Siero and Creme Fraiche based soaps in my rotation.  Dulci Tabacco (Siero base - hard soap) is on deck for tomorrow.   Happy
