Hi,

Going to Florida on Monday and staying for two weeks. Instead of bringing my own shaving soaps for the vacation I thought why not buy on site and without shipping cost. Living in Sweden we also need to pay tax when shipped to. Hence I would be very grateful for any suggestions on shops that sell American artisan shaving soaps in the Orlando area?

Thanks! Any other 'not to miss' shaving shops in Florida? We will move around a bit Smile.

Order everything you want from artisans online, have it shipped to your hotel and then throw it in your bags. You probably won't find many brick and mortar stores that have to do with shaving in Orlando.

or many brick & mortar stores in the entire USA that have to do with shaving...they're still too cost prohibitive in our niche market yet.

I agree with EFDan though. order online and have them shipped to your hotel..you'll probably get everything in 3-5 days after ordering it.

I agree with this approach. You can actually order now before you leave and it will arrive pretty quickly in most cases. I would let the vendor know that the order is time sensitive and must arrive at the hotel within your stay dates. US mail is generally decent though you can pay a bit more and get quicker service up to and including overnight. Priority mail is around 3 to 5 days at the most if I recall correctly. Also, you can order either through the artisan soap maker or through a vendor which carries the soap e.g. West Coast Shaving or Maggards. These vendors stock a really large selection of products and you may be able to combine all the products you want in one order if they carry all the products you want.

I would also just verify with the hotel staff that they'll allow package delivery to hotel guests as well. most do, but it wouldn't hurt to check before placing the order.

I had a family friend from Sweden do it this way and it worked out for him staying in Philadelphia. He just ordered from Maggard and had it shipped to his hotel. He brought an extra bag, spent about $200 and is still happily shaving without worrying if he will run out of products lol. I even sent a few brushes to his hotel to take home with him.

Superior Shave, which is a good outfit, is in Jacksonville. Fenhidran is in Largo. I'm not sure if they have a store. Both are about two hours from Orlando.

I would go through Maggard Razors. They are known for fast shipping and have a TON of product that you probably would be interested in if you know what you want. Maybe you are looking to smell the soaps before you buy, but the only way to do that is going to maggard. I would read a ton of reviews about particular product that you want and go from there.

Good luck my friend and let us know what you have decided on. Smile
