I have a kanayama strop (#3) which I ordered from aftamestokyo. I didn't know what to expect from it, but I knew it would have an interesting feel to it. It is now my favorite strop, over my Tony Miller. The miller is better than my previous strop (Illinois), but I prefer the Kanayama and wouldn't use anything else if I had the choice.
It is very thin and supple, and has very little draw, just feels smooth. I don't think they will be around much longer, as the maker is apparently in his 90s. Then again, they do restock them every so often, so maybe they will continue the business with a second generation maker.
