I have for a long time (since 2014) been trying to downsize my soap and cream collection.

In that time span I have used perhaps what equates to 12-15 full pots of soap and cream, while I have acquired in between 150-200 full pots of soap and cream Big Grin

So I think I'm doing allright with downsizing my collection, don't you Tongue

I'm at a stage, where I soon can rotate a new cream/soap every day for a year, and not use the same one twice Angel

I just want to try one from every well received artisan. I think I have enough soaps now to form an informed opinion about my next purchases.

Arko and Cella are very good btw... hehe.. I wouldn't mind having to stock those two.

Love it - I invite everybody to add a "Jeff Foxworthy You Might be a Redneck" type statement for knowing when you probably have too much soap. You know "when your dog and your wallet are both on a chain, you might be a redneck." Smile

I recently culled my collection by a fair bit. I put my unwanted soaps in a bag, brought them to work, and had wet-shaving coworkers come by to sniff and pick out ones they wanted. They've almost all found new homes now. It feels good.

I don't think it's a particular number that keeps my collection from feeling like "too much," but rather knowing that each soap/cream I've kept is there for a good reason. If I'm just "take it or leave it" on something, it needs to go.
David : DE shaving since Nov 2014. Nowadays giving in to the single-edge siren call.

I may have forgotten to mention that I'm guilty. Blush That's one of the reasons I put myself on restraint for the entire year.

What if you don't have a wife or gf?

Doesn't have to be significant other related.

if I don't use something for a long time and I'm not interested in collecting said item, it's usually time to throw it up for sale. I did that a few years ago with basically every single puck of soap I owned and more recently with some razors. I have very hard water, and for me, it's just not worth the time trying to fiddle with a soap to make it 'right' when I know there's creams and softer soaps out there that work well for me with much less effort.

YMMV, of course!

Andrew, do you want to send me a bottle of your water so that I can conduct another experiment?! I love the challenges with 'hard' water. Big Grin
