When does a cream become a croap?

I'm trying to finalize the consistency of a shaving cream formulation and am seeing that it can either be a cream cheese consistency or something more runny. And then someone brought croaps into the conversation.

So, my question to you is: when does a cream become a croap? And what is the ideal consistency of a shaving cream in a tub?

If you can't just dip your brush in the tub, give it a twist, and have all the cream you need, it's too thick. If you have to swirl your brush on it, it's a croap.

I definitely don't think there's a consistent guideline for this. For example, look at the consistency of Castle Forbes, which is considered a "cream" but feels like a croap.

I agree with -A-. Creams should be soft enough to get out by dipping your brush.

You could also use the process to determine it - if there's no after-cook superfatting/whipping/rotting then it's not a cream?

I think if it's easy enough to squeeze out of a tube, like most creams, then it should suffice as a cream. a lot of croaps probably are on the firmer side and would take some effort to get it to squeeze out of a tube.

That's my thinking. I like the whipped mashed potato consistency best.

If it can go through a toothpaste tube it's a cream, otherwise it's a croap/soap.

Assuming one is hung over on Sunday morning;

- if you accidentally pour it in your coffee, it's a cream;
- if you accidentally spread it on your bagel, it's a croap.

I agree with the opinion that if you could put it in a tube and squeeze it out, it's a cream. Otherwise...well you know the answer.
