Last night I used my Wostenholm IXL Celebrated 6/8 hollow
I took this blade to the Shoubudani and used the ILR slurry stone, the way I have for a few other blades, hoping to get this one to the same "best edge its ever had" level that the others have obtained. It did that, but it still didn;t meet the level of sharpness that the others have.
I have a new bevel setter(1k range) and a mid-range synthetic(3-4k) coming from JapanesNaturalStones.com, so this blade may need to go back to the beginning with a fresh bevel set to get it to the level of keeness I am currently getting from my other blades. I'm hoping these synthetic stones made from natural abrasives will be a worthwhile investment. New stones to play with...
