Saturday's shave with the Dovo 6/8 was a not as smooth as it should have been. It was touch up time.  So did a few laps on a 12k stone.  I used it again Sunday and we're back in business.   Very close, very smooth, effortless and irritation free.

The last 3 times I tried to use this razor it was very disappointing. I tried refreshing with synthetics and jnats, but to no avail.

When I first got this razor, I honed it with Arkies, and got fantastic shaves, so I figured I would give it a try, and see if I could get it back.

It worked like a dream! 1k diamond plate to confirm the bevel. Soft, hard, and translucent Arkansas stones through final polish, and this razor came back to life! An extremely close and comfortable shave. Best edge it's ever taken for me! Now I remember why it went right to the top of my rotation before!

I guess some blades just prefer the natural Arkansas stones to the natural Japanese stones...
