My cousins picked this soap as the one that smells most like a men's room in an old folks' home. True, but it has pedigree. Inspired by Paul Parquet’s 1882 Fougère Royale, Fern is full of bright lavender, citrus, and clean, hay-like notes. What’s missing in Will’s mix is the skank – no wet earth, mold, wormy bits, or indole. Still, Fern is great for a sunny-day shave, and if I need skank, a splash of Brut will do the trick (thanks, Dave in KY!).
