Kent garners far less respect than deserved for their hair care products; possess a couple of their LHS 5 Wire Laid brushes and they are stellar

I couldn’t wait for Frank to grace us with his own fougère in Ethos F base. Patience, it seems, is a virtue for people with better hobbies. So I took matters into my own hands.
I found a recipe for fougère online (see below). Then I excavated my stash of Ethos soaps, a treasure trove of richly fragrant jewels, and went to work. Lavender Sublime, Tonka Bean, Bergamot – they became the stars of my little chemistry experiment, but I must have used at least eight other soaps. I scraped a bit here, a dab there, and for a touch of warmth, I finished with a drop of Vanilla Safi.
When it was all mashed together, I took a sniff. And you know what? It didn’t smell like failure. It smelled like Topanga Fougère, which is to say, it smelled pretty good. Will I try it again? Naw. Too much work, but the shave was fantastic, and it’s got me licking my chops for the day when Frank releases the real thing.

Wow nice attempt at making a Fougere Bouki the Lavender, Tonka Bean and Bergamot are a must as key aromatic ingredients and if you had a little Oakmoss that would have surely helped as it’s a must as well.
I promise it won’t be long my friend. This month only doing Lost Souls and I have to catch up on some custom orders and I have two new Skincare products coming along with a hair & scalp product coming as well. Then starting in February all the way till the end of March I’m going to be very aggressive and focused on coming out with a bunch of new Aromas and Fougere is high up on the list.
An thank you for the kind words!
Meta Nectar this particular soap by PAA has a distinct barbershop spin, it reminds me of Clubman Pinaud, but leans more towards the sweet powdery aspects.
Really nice scent profile, pleasant but not gourmand, has a classic splash profile but does not feel dated.
Another great set CaD314
SCENT PROFILE: A COMPLEX BLEND OF ORANGE BLOSSOM, HONEY, AND VANILLA; MANLY AND MYSTICAL. OTHER SUPPORTING NOTES INCLUDE:
PALMAROSA, GURJUM BALSAM, PATCHOULI, BERGAMOT & CEDARWOOD.

Drat! Here we go again. I wander off the path of Martin de Candre for just a few shaves, and my skin revolts. Modern soap bases – oh, they’re marvels of complexity, intricate as a recipe for Beef Wellington – but my face? My face just wants bread and water. Every shave with Absinthe has been a quiet miracle, nothing but trouble-free bliss. Why can’t I just stick with something simple that works so well for me?
