Bernardo de Gálvez (Joserra) bright leather
Shave 1

Great choice, lukester! This bright suede fragrance is a nice start to the weekend. I don’t know why this soap is also called Yo sólo, but I did find out that the Texan city of Galveston is named after Bernardo de Gálvez, who was a viceroy of New Spain.

And when it comes time to patch up some holes in my hide, this brand is the best for me. I call it my recovery base.

Tommy,
TRC carries the soap under the name Galvez. They are out of stock. Pasteur carries the same soap under the name Yo Solo. Huh  Last I checked they had three left in stock. Always enjoy your posts!!

Haslinger Coconut (tallow)

There are a few desert island soaps I would grab and Haslinger tallow is one of them. A hard little puck that is often mistaken for triple milled.  Close but not quite. Amazed every time I pick it up.

The viscous, gummy, jelly-like suds keeps me coming back for more. A unique lather amongst many great soaps.

It means “I alone” or “me alone”, and it’s related to an episode in Pensacola Bay, like Galvez didn’t need the spanish fleet to succeed. It’s what I remember reading when this soap came out.
