Hi Rudy, are you saying that Simpson is no longer making the knot on these but procure finished Chinese knots?

There was a guy on another forum whose knot fell out of the same brush as mine. The knot was not the typical handtied knot I have seen for several Chubbies I did restore with a new handle. These typical hand tied knots have ties with string, normally two, and are about set 20-25 mm deep into the handles. The one that fell out was a typical Chinese made knot with the short resin glue plug at the bottom. The shape is also more of a bulb than the Simpson hybrid shape.

I have a lot of Simpson 2 Band brushes most of them 10+ years old, amongst them various Chubbies. I have noticed that newer versions, post pandemic, have become much thinner in density, which I viewed as a cost saving attempt. Sad enough. However, Simpson has traditionally advertised as a core quality their own sorting and hand tying of knots. It would be shocking, if they had abandoned that, especially for their higher priced brushes. I hope you are wrong.
