What's Your Favourite/Most Ergonomic Brush Handle?

Anything that is close to the L7 and M7 family

There are quite a few that are very ergonomic....AS3M, Keyhole, Beehive, Tulip, PJ to name a few classic shapes. For me the worst to hold are the short stubby handles like Chubby and others.

My most comfortable handle is the Oumo Exceed - it is really the only brush I have that makes me think how great it feels every time I pick it up.



My worst is the Mühle Rocca brush. It causes my hand to cramp. Must be something to do with the narrow diameter and lack of contouring, which make me grip it too hard (photo below is not mine).

My favorite is the Craving Shaving handle. Easy to hold and tall enough so that the lather doesn't flow down to easily.

Is there anything out there with a big spherical handle? My hands are terrible and I'm not up for hurting myself every time.

The waist is higher up than usual too (compared to, say, Persian Jar handles).

You might find something suitable on Etsy. A lot of unusual one-off handles there.

Or... ApShaveCo sells mix & match tops and bottoms of handles separately, the "uBrush" system.

And you can order a top with a 24 mm knot of your choice already attached.


So, you could get one of those and glue it to any sphere that you can find. Billiard ball? Golf ball? Door knob? You name it.
A door knob is more likely to be hollow, and therefore lighter.
A wooden ball could probably work too, with a few coats of spar urethane.

The unique thing about the Keyhole is that the top ‘globe’ is not round as it is with all copycats.

The keyhole has a tapered bottom section of the ‘globe’ that effectively gives your fingers more space (allows them to move forward’, like making the handle longer without making the handle longer. Unlike the Paladin Sherlock and Keyhive. Rudy Vey can probably comment on the difference.
