I re-learned why I like Barber-type handles today. My new Omega synth works just fine, but soap tends to get on the end of the handle and shortens it for me. I end up doing the below "Pincer" type of grip. I like having more of a full grip on brushes, which is where the barber handles shine.

A&E synthetic. The vintage style long handles feel the most ergonomic to me.

For ergonomics, generally I like stubby handles with smooth narrow waists.

1st place: Stirling 2-Band Synthetic. A really good grip for flicking out excess water.
This also my favourite handle for appearance, with that black and white 1920s Art Deco vibe.

Wouldn't it look right at home in this bathroom?

2nd place: Semogue 620 - but I'm not so crazy about the knot.

3rd place: For appearance, this future re-knot project, a little (something like 18 mm knot diameter) Rubberset.
The middle of the knot is worn right down to the glue bump, leaving only a circular fringe. I shall take a chance and do the steaming thing to get it out.
I just hope I can find a small-enough non-boar knot for it.

[edit ... I steamed the knot out tonight, and the inside diameter seems to be more like 22 mm, so that should simplify my search. Maybe a faux boar.]

I don't have one yet, but I'd probably really like an Ever-Ready 100T too, but with a new badger or synthetic knot.

Or an Ever-Ready 300 PBT

Dear Santa.
I would really like a Simpsons "Eagle" G3 brush.

Again with the smooth waist.

I suppose I could easily afford a Big Bruce, but I don't like the colour scheme of the knot.

Swap it out for a Yaqi "Snow Leopard" knot
Yeah ... that's the ticket.
