I've long been a fan of Simpson Manchurians, especially in Chubby form, and of Gustavo's (Romera) brushes. Recently, however, following a "push" from a good friend, I acquired this LS shaving brush on ebay, from China. No fancy engraving or label on the handle, but what it does have is wonderful 30x56 2-Band Finest knot. A beautifully soft and scritch-free knot with excellent backbone. The best and unbelievable bit was the price - an equivalent of around $55 shipped. I can't stop using this brush and frequently use it on consecutive days.

I have sold most of my badger brushes, having owned 125-150 in 2013-2014, slowly selling off the brushes that didn't quite suit my taste.
I used to enjoy rougher feeling brushes, but have now slowly found my sweet spot, which lies in the Thäter 4125 models 2-band as well as 3-bands and the 3 softer Shavemac prime badger hair types. It took me long to find a Thäter model with low enough loft and densely enough packed to not feel floppy. Now I found my perfect 8 Thäters. Took me 3-4 years to track them down.
My Shavemacs are all custom made, and I have sold all my D01 2-bands, because no matter what lift, knot shape and knot batch, it just does not suit my taste any longer.
I like to work the lather deep in for 5-10 minutes, when I face lather.
I have also sold all my 14-15 Cubby 2/3 and Duke 3 Manchurians, and now only own one Simpson, which happens to be the best knot among the 25-30 Simpsons I have owned. It's a limited batch 2012 Best-Super 3-band combo Chubby 2 brush.
It beats all the Simpson 2-band Silvertip knots, so I sold them all except this rare, truly unique, Chubby 2 ivory from 2012. So this is my overall favourite knot. The CH2 handle is too short so I consider sending it to Bernd for a replacement handle.
This Simpson CH2 and my Thäter 4125 Low loft 30 mm 2-band Silvertip are my 2 current favourite brushes in my den

Paladin Lotus in strawberry amber. The colors reflect a lifelong pleasure in buddhist teachings as does the form recalling the sacred flower. The bright fiery side and more calm velvety red opposite make me hear THE FIREBIRD while shaving. All this, and far from being avant gard it reeks of native eccentricity and creativity. This is a brush Lord Berners would enjoy as his coloured pigeons wheeled outside. All this, and it has that minor point of performing splendidly worth a passing comment. If, I should be blessed with future Paladins I imagine another Lotus in bubblegum and lemondrop to further colour my flock. Lord Bevons had a folding clavicord in his Rolls Royce for composing. Mine, a 20/25 light limousine in pastel yellow and black waiting a successfull lottery drawing will share a modest shaving set up where the liquor cabinet now resides.

Very nice! Is there a glue bump present in your knot?
