What's your favorite AC razor?

I'm curious what others love in the Artist Club format.

Mine was the Cobra Classic until just recently. The proprietary blade loading mechanism is holding the blade too loosely in place now. It could easily open accidently during the shave now. Not sure how well Classic Shaving would handle replacing the bar.

My experience with AC razors is the General, Occam, Occam OREN, asylum RX V1, and Cobra.

Asylum RX V1 was too harsh for me. I would like to try the V2 someday. The General was pretty good. Occam and the OREN are very mild. OREN has a much better handle. I really love the design of the floating head.

What say you gents?

Durdan La Faulx with Kai Protouch MG or Yaqi Romulus with same blade. I also found the Asylum, Hawk, Shield and BL Vector way too harsh for me. I whitteld it down to the two first mentioned.

Hands down, the best razor ever encountered: Vector Ti with a SoftGuard. Only a properly honed straight comes close but the Vector has absolutely no maintenance besides cleaning

Classic Shaving has the HIRAM Commander Razor that has a floating head. I imagine it will shave similarly to the Oren razor. Because it's much heavier than the Oren it may be a little more aggressive. It's a beautiful razor though. I am not sure it's still being produced because it's out of stock. 

I like the Romulus razor which is mild. For a slightly more aggressive razor than the Yaqi Romulus try the Yaqi Excalibur.

Shield AC is smooth, close shaver

Interesting choices gentleman! I hadn't heard of the Atelier Durdan brand before. So many razor companies these days.

I saw a Hiram Commander recently in the BST. Looks beautiful (a cross between Cobra Classic and the Occam).

I want to add a new AC razor to my collection. I'm getting to the point where I just want one razor of each format.

So far the breakdown is as follows:

- DE: Ikon Shavecraft Tech

-GEM: Shield Predator Polished SS


I have only tried one injector style (Supply SE). It's way too mild.

I started off my wetshaving journey early on with adjustable razors. I don't feel myself using them much anymore. I will have to do a BST soon.

For AC safety razors, I would probably say the Blackland Ti Vector is the nicest out of the ones I have owned.
For AC barber razors, I would say it is between the Kai Captain Standard folding razor and the Feather DX wood handle folding razor.

I have the Vector, WR4, and La Faulx. Understanding this is YMMV - I rank La Faulx first followed closely by Wolfman and the Vector in a distant 3rd.  The La Faulx reigns supreme in my rotation for sublime comfort and efficiency- just a marvel

Not that I find the Durdan bad; in fact, the early editions that were polished to perfection were among the very best manufactured razors ever produced. Unfortunately, Durdan threw quality out the window to achieve lower price and high volume. Irrespective, if one has a face well rounded without angular recesses, the Durdan is an amazing razor: no blade feel and quite efficient but for those needing to access recesses and nooks, its sheer head size makes that impossible.

What makes the Vector the best of all razors in my experience is its unique design (now stolen by Yaqi). It is the ability of the Vector design to access any tight nook that makes it so unique. Admittedly, its manufacturing does not equal Wolfman nor especially the former Dardan standards. Were it an auto, it would be the Lotus pre 2015 of the razor industry.
