I believe this razor is from the 1950s and was probably meant to go head to head (no pun intended) with the Gillette Tech.  Like the Tech, it is extremely mild.  However, where I have never quite been satisfied with the Tech's performance, I love the shaves I get from the STAR. I have gotten into the habit of starting my week's shaves with this razor and a fresh blade and today was no different; it was the STAR combined with a Gillette 7 O'Clock Super Platinum [Black] blade and the shave was great.

For those of you looking for a mild razor, see if you can find one of these at a reasonable price.  You just might be surprised at the results.

1st shave with the Black Mamba. Outstanding razor, I was quite surprised at how comfortable it was and how efficient. Mowed right through a day and a halfs growth in 3 easy passes.
