I loved Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials trilogy and this, the first of another trilogy, is filling in more of the story.

Another Philip Pullman fan.  Excellent!  I just started The Book of Dust and am only 50 pages in but am already completely engrossed.  I was in Scotland in September when I saw it was available for pre-order so immediately pre-ordered it when I got home.

Many years ago I read Unintended Consequences by John Ross. I have the hard copy somewhere, they sell for $100 on Amazon and $60 for the soft cover. But I recently found in as a free .pdf file online.

So now I have it on my computer and I sent it as an attachment to my Kindle. That'll be my next book.

FWIW, if you're a gun guy you'll like this book. It's dated but the book is still germane today. It's an excellent read.

My son is a history major with a minor in Civil War Studies at Gettysburg College. He's a Senior so this is the last year I'll be a regular visitor to the battlefield. I picked this book up on his recommendation. The maps are great. The last time I was on the field I took it along and it definitely enhanced the experience

I found this in a thrift store in Scotland and wasn't expecting much.  However, I am completely engrossed in the story.
