May we have your descriptive perspective
Certainly: slightly sweet, slightly smoky. Incense and vanilla, with a touch of coffee/cocoa in the background. The fuller notes would be frankincense, benzoin, vanilla, labdanum and coffee. It is — for me — entirely a cheerful, warm, and sunny scent. It’s not a dark incense — as if one is in pew with a censer being swung nearby — but more like sitting next to a bowl of frankincense in a sun-drenched coffee house (if that makes sense). The ingredients are all natural and just seem top-notch, rich and full. This is the EDP. Matiere Premiere came out this fall with an extrait version which I find too heavy, almost darker, and which oddly has little sillage and duration, whereas the EDP lasts and lasts. This has been my favorite cold weather scent for over the last year since I first tried it. I find it addictive and, as I mentioned, haven’t wanted to wear anything else for a week.
