How different is the newer version, Peter?  I hate when I find a shaving soap or EdT that I like and then it gets 'reformulated'.  I'm still convinced that Tiffany for Men was reformulated and while still very nice, I'm sure they put some of that chemical stuff in it, dihydrosomething.  Not enough to ruin it but certainly enough that I smell it a bit when I first use the cologne.  My original bottle did not have that.

I love the ribbed bottle version. I won't wear the new one :/. To me it smells unbalanced. Somehow the tobacco note seems off. The old ribbed bottle had balance between the vetiver and the tobacco, and came across as very elegant, but the new one is just... Meh. Ruined IMO Sad.

I would like to hear what you guys have to say about Bvlgari Black. It sounds like such an unusual scent. I have a tough time comprehending a rubber note.

Today it was Annick Goutal's Eau d'Hadrien cologne. I really like the scent but find it quite weak. Perhaps as an EdT it might be stronger.

Creed - Royal Oud

Freddy, if you like Eau d'Hadrian, I'd highly recommend you try Profumum Roma's Acqua Viva. This is essentially a perfume extrait version of Eau d'Hadrien, though it smells higher quality.

Today it's Histoires de Parfums 1725. I wanted a fougere to match the Fine AB soap I went with again, but didn't really want to go with Rive Gauche Pour Homme.

BTW Freddy I can confirm that the new (post-ribbed-bottle era) Guerlain Vetiver does NOT have any dihydromyrcenol. I know that particular chemical well and it honks like a siren to me whenever present. That's not to say there isn't something else there that bothers you of course. I happen to really like the current Guerlain Vetiver, and get not much more than vetiver, tobacco, light spice, and maybe a bit of citrus in the opening. It smells quite natural to me overall.

David : DE shaving since Nov 2014. Nowadays giving in to the single-edge siren call.
