This stuff was out for delivery today!

The Stone Cottage Soapworks Shaving Soap is the "Frankincense Fog" scent and it is one of those intoxicating scents for me. The shaving soap is a new project for them. Stone Cottage Soapworks has been making shaving cream for a while, but I just picked up a sample pack of the cream. It's the first I've tried it. The soap is pretty hard and I believe it is cold process soap, which caught curiosity. The cream is soft like the 3 "T's" from the UK. Now, I just have to try them and see how they perform. The shaving cream has some fans, but the shaving soap is new so I haven't seen anything about it yet. Wish me luck!

P.S.
No, the injector blades didn't come from Stone Cottage Soapworks, they just happened to come in the mail today too.
Also, soap and cream was purchased by me and I don't have any affiliation with the artisan other than curiosity.(and developing a serious shaving soap obsession)

Rob, let us know how you like the new soap and the creams. I have read nothing but good things about Stone Cottage shaving creams.

Whenever I go to shave, I assume there’s someone else on the planet shaving, so I say “I’m gonna go shave, too.”

YAY!!! My Stirling brush arrived! I lathered it up in my hand for a little bit, and washed it with some dish soap, and then went ahead and had a shave with it, and the sample of Gentleman soap they sent along with it.

Very nice brush! It's softer than my silvertip badger, already. A small bit of funk, but I am sure it will go away very soon...

BadDad, I'm sure you won't be disappointed with that brush once the funk goes away. I love mine! It has quickly become one of my favorites!

Well, it does smell good! I'm not very good with describing scents, but while it doesn't smell like bay rum, it's certainly close to that. It obviously has a spice component. I will have a better feel for it after I lather it I'm sure. Honestly, there isn't anything I received from Stone Cottage that doesn't smell good. Everything smells very "rich."

I will, Matthew! As you know I tend to use soaps more than creams, but you're right about the creams coming very well received. There are certainly quite a few fans out there of the shaving cream. I'll keep you posted!

It's great that you finally got your Stirling brush, Chris! I'm happy you like it! I kind of knew you would!

My Stirling badger brush had a bit of the funk to it too. It disappeared after a few uses in my case. On the bright side, at least you are lathering your dome, so you don't have that smell right in your face! Sick

Now about this shaving brush acquisition disorder.......

Houbigant Fougère Royale stick aftershave. In the past I wasn't very impressed with the lathering qualities of the vintage FR shaving soap, but I loved its fragrance, so I decided to do a blind buy of this. I hope my wife likes it.
