I rather 'accidentally' won three auctions this weekend.
Accidentally in that I didn't think they would go for as low as my low bids - but...apparently I either have really bad taste..or people are even cheaper than I am. Or both.
Auction 1
Wilkinson Fixed Profile Metal razor. NIB/NOS
I believe this is very similar to the Royale that marketed in the US around 1980 - and designed by Sir Kenneth Grange.
If so, quite the score for me as I love the Royale razor and they sell regularly for around $50
Cost: $2.30
Auction 2
Small lot/package
I dismissed this lot at first when glancing through eBay as there was a lot of, well mostly...to be honest, 'junk' in the picture.
But - lo and behold..what do we have on the left hand side? A NIB Merkur MII !
Love my Merkur MII and am really happy to get a spare.
This is also a razor that sells for $50-70.
Cost: $14.99
Oh, and other things in the lot are;
- Col Ichabod Conk "Bristle and Badger", Made in England. Not overly excited about that one.
- Col Ichabod Conk Shaving mug. Meh.
- Nose and ear hair trimmer. Double-meh
Auction 3
Then I thought, well, the same seller had another auction..and they did combine shipping..so, uh, let's put an equally low bid on that one..and oops...only bidder...again.
This one is a hit/miss one and I won't really know until I can check out in person.
What it has going for it is the "Concord, Made in Italy" brand. I actually already own a cartridge handle by that company and it's a very solid, high quality piece of shaving gear.
Brand new;
- Concord, Italy, razor
- Concord, Italy Silvertip badger brush in solid metal handle
- Razor/Brush stand
- Shaving mug with what, and kinda funny, looks like a Merkur MII on it
- Oh..and...another Nose and ear trimmer...
Cost: $12
So maybe I didn't uncover any white wales this weekend but for a total of about $29 I got some really fun additions
