is it something similar to the optomap? I just had my eyes checked a few weeks ago and had that done...pretty wild. I had it done 2 years ago as well.

I wasn't familiar with that product, looks pretty nifty. I couldn't tell from the descriptions whether they can do multiple kinds of scans at the same time?

Yes, it's the same basic idea. We use a single kind of scanning technology called optical coherence tomography (OCT) that gives you a 3-D view into the retina. Instead of going for as big a field of view as possible like the optomap, we go in the opposite direction, zooming in on a 1- or 2-degree square patch of tissue at high enough resolution that we can see individual cells. Here's a nice picture.

So I was a union ironworker for 20 years but injuries in the line of duty led me to learn to tattoo and I worked in street shops for 23 years. Retired for 8 or 9 years now.

That's quite the shift. I love ink. Trying to figure out building out a shoulder piece right now around a pilgrim's cross I got in Jerusalem on a mission trip. Lots of ideas, but most of them so far don't quite work for me. Probably time to sit down with an artist and start working on some sketches. I've had the cash saved up for almost 3 years now.

Quality Engineer in the automotive parts industry. Specifically friction and mating pates for clutch packs. If GM US, Canada, Mexico or China has an issue with one of our parts, it's up to me to find the cause and make sure it doesn't happen again.
