What did you hone today?

This 1st Generation Filarmonica 14 Especial has had a rough life.  However, it’s still a magnificent shaver!

I dropped the edge back to the 8k, went to the 12k, and finished on the Silkvein.  The Silkvein is supposed to be a pre-finisher, but the resultant edge felt very nice on my face.

I have two special razors arriving tomorrow, and I think I will finish one of them on this stone in order to see what’s what!

The beaten down, but beautiful shaver above...well his 1st GEN Big Brother arrived today (along with a JMP Imperial 14), and I finished it on the Escher Barber’s Gem. I have never seen a 1st Gen Filarmonica 14 with the horizontal line under “MONSERRAT” on the tang, but I am no expert. I am looking forward to tomorrow’s shave!

JMP IMPERIAL 14

I think that this razor has a grind that is going to rival my Filarmonica 14 Salamanca, which is an extra full hollow even by Filarmonica standards.  It is circa 1917.

Yes...original scales!

I just really appreciate how this razor looks, and I love the way it shaves...it had five or six shaves on the edge, and I couldn’t tell a difference between this morning’s shave, and the first shave with it...just awesome shaver! 

However, I did have a rare moment of free time earlier, and this happened! I will probably use this razor again either tomorrow or Monday! I am looking forward to it!
