What Brand is this handle?

I picked this vintage brush handle in a little antique place in Missouri. It was very dirty and had a disintegrated and brittle boar knot mounted in rubber. The marks in the picture are the only ones on the handle and I couldn't see those until I cleaned and repainted. The knot is 28mm.Who made it?

Out of all you shaving obsessed weirdos NOBODY can help this shaving obsessed wierdo identify the maker of this handle? Can anyone direct me to a vintage brush guru who "knows stuff"? I live this big ole brush and would like to be able to find a back story for it. Toyed with putting a boar back in it but couldn't find a knot big enough that I liked the look of and trusted the maker. Thought about badger but I already have two 30mm (silvertip and two band) so tuxedo it is! I never noticed that a synthetic had a break-in period until this huge knot. It wouldn't splay worth a darn until after about a weeks worth of use. Now it splays beautifully.

I am not able to offer any help to whom the maker of that brush is.
There were quite a few different manufacturers in the past, so it might be a challenge to find who specifically produced that brush.

Thanks my friend. I like to rework brushes and have learned a lot about past makers but this one has me flummoxed.

Your best research route would be via period advertising resources and hope there is some Farmer's Almanac type ephemera showing provenance. I can't even find products from my childhood anywhere.

Just a guess but the style looks like an Adoration or Certifyd shaving brush. Just a guess though.

I've seen some Diamond E's have those N Y marks.. but the S.. hmm. I hope this at least, helps in your search.

Lol. I am beginning to think it's been right under our noses all along and that right there, "N.S.Y" is the maker themselves.

My guess is Solid Set as they made brushes out of NY. There was also another company out of NY called Strong Set. But most, if not all of their brushes were made from wood which leads me to believe it's the first one.

Go to Facebook and join some of the shaving brush makers groups they'll tell you exactly what it is

There is almost no information or pictures that will verify that it is a C-mon other than a side note. Mentioning a circle S logo was in use

Since the company moved to New York IF this is a C-mon I'd guess that it is from there time in NYC. I've asked a few resources in the shaving brush restoring community and they so far have no additional information beyond that reference. It's not concrete evidence by any means, but it gives you a lead to chase.
