^Having read that makes me somewhat ashamed to be part of this community. I can't believe people would get in that much of an uproar over SHAVING SOAP. Buncha whiney complainers if you ask me.

Yeah, this got way overblown. I was just interested in all of it since I hadn't heard anything about this B&M scent. I thought debating the business model was just an interesting conversation. But I can't believe how upset people got. Then again, I hear Passiflora does cure the common cold...

Enjoyable read as always. Thanks!

Classic case of first world problems. A huge ordeal over a luxury soap that no one needs because we have enough to last a lifetime.

Wow this is kind of a shame. No doubt, I had ZERO interest in ever getting a membership to "The Club," but it would seem like, the more exclusive soaps, aftershaves and various items that he got for his site, the more subscriptions he would get. I can only imagine there were many B&M regular customers that were so peeved that they couldn't be completests and get their hands on a single scent of Barrister and Mann, but wow. This was a total disaster thanks to a group of folks. I wonder what this means for his site going forward? Obviously, Barrister and Mann is probably the most popular soap he is selling there, but will there be outrage across the fruited plain if he has some exclusive Reef Point soap or what not?

Will I'm sorry that this had to happen. It honestly seems like a good idea for those that would like a site subscription and buy monthly shave gear. I'm just not the one, and the subscription service just isn't for me. Doesn't mean it isn't for someone else however. I love your soaps but wow, I can live without one of them. The reaction to this is absurd.

Yes I was totally willing to sit this soap out because I'll be damned if I'm gonna pay 50 bucks for a chance at owning one soap I'm interested in. I am not enamored by any of Peters other exclusives or soaps that have free shipping. So this one soap would be the only reason I'd join. But then the whiny babies starting crying and ruined the whole model for everyone. Sure I dont agree with the Club and its platform but I think it was fine for those who wanted to join. Now it's just a mess.

How ridiculous. TSE was right in a recent video. Giving in just rewards bad behavior from the whiners.

Club schlub, in the words of W.C, Fields "I wouldn't belong to any club that would have me as a member."  Not even for a shot at Passiflora.

Marko, I believe it was Groucho Marx who said that.  I have heard, though I do not know for certain, it was said about country clubs that wouldn't admit Jews.  Marx was Jewish.

As for our best merchants, long may their success continue.  Finding a model for sales cannot be easy but I hope each of them finds a workable solution.  Finding a perfect solution, however, may take a wee bit longer. Winking

Out of curiosity, where did all the winning occur? I think this thread has just been a conversation/debate, which is why I come to the forums-to engage with others. Did the whining occur elsewhere, or is this thread considered whining?
And what did Charlie Sheen say about whining?
No wait...I remember, that was winning. Smile

That's very much the case, and a mistake I will not make in the future. My sincerest apologies to all involved; it was not intended to be anything other than the greatest good for the greatest number.
