I've seen a few Facebook posts they've made.
Intrigued.

I signed up. If they can produce something close to the historic W&B razors, I'll definitely be having one -- OK, OK -- some.

With the advancements in steels, methods and tooling, they should be able to make a much better razor ... Sans mystique, of course!

I agree. Of course, the proof is in the pudding as they say. Still its good to see the W&B name resurrected. I just hope they're able to produce a razor worthy of the name.

Well, the gentleman behind the venture has been around the community for some time, and he appears to have the desire to do the brand, and the shave community justice in this undertaking. It has been in the works for a time already, so he is not trying to rush the brand to market to cash in... At first, I was a bit put-off by the idea of resurrecting the name, but after researching the history of the brand a bit, and considering the pro's and con's, I've reached the conclusion of keeping an open mind until seeing the final product ...

Quite a rare occurrence for this old curmudgeon!

As a fellow (downstate) New Yorker, I agree. Let's taste the pudding before we criticize it. Clearly, though, this bloke's got big shoes to fill....

I heard someone say the other day that the new Wade & Butchers will be made of South African steel. Is anyone aware of top quality high carbon steel manufacturers in South Africa?

A quick google search shows both arcelormittal and bohler-uddeholm have plants in SA.

BUT, that doesn't, I think, guarantee availability of steel for razor making.
