Valet Auto-Strop razor

I accumulated a couple of these Valets over the years and agree about the cool exposed gear look. They do shave nicely if you like a milder razor.
Ultimately I ended up pif'ing them all away but the VC1 that can be used with the spineless SE blade.

I have been reading with interest your's and Brian S.'s take on the SEvette.  I think something like that would be way too aggressive for me.  I actually had miserable slice & dice shaves from the Micromatic so never had a desire to revisit it.  The funny thing is I don't have that trouble with my two favorite lather catchers yet I thought they would have been as uncomfortable as the Micromatic.

They're all different Freddy. Probably the mildest SE razor I ever used was the Gem Junior Bar Lather Catcher. I figured the first one was a fluke, so after sending it out to another gent I tried another one with the same result. Lots of folks like them, but for me they're painfully mild.
