UTV/ATV

So last year we got a camper today we added this to the mix.... 2019 Polaris XP1000 EPS Crew....

At first it was hard for me to justify the cost of a car for a recreational vehicle until my middle son (who is a terrible negotiator) said In front of the salesman “dad we camp every weekend and we’ve wanted one of these for two years” I haven’t taught him poker yet.

They are installing the windows and roof and wipers and blinkers tomorrow..... should be ready for the lake this weekend for better or worse the whole family will ride in style

Thanks celestino it will be nice to have this when we go to the lake or the forest camping. We've wanted one for a few years now, like everything else... the wait makes it that much more enjoyable when it happens

Congrats! You'll have fun with that! Just use it with care. Just recently Maine had a death with one. The passenger died. It looked to me as though possibly alcohol and excessive speed were to blame, but all I saw were the pix on TV. The vehicle was fairly well mangled.

Check out the snapped tree. That takes a lot of force. They aren't toys.

I've had ATVs for decades without incident and never hurt anyones land. I've also seen folks on them destroying the trails by thinking they were in a mud run and acting on that. Too, we have a trail that intersects with the road we live on and riders routinely dig up our road by acting like aholes with the throttle. More and more landowners are say "no" when asked if the trails can cross their property. I saw what riders were like years ago (read above) and I said no immediately when I was asked. Not all riders to be sure, but it's the rotten apples who screw it up for the rest.

Still looks shiny and new for all those miles and hours. You and your family are much more sedate drivers (11.3 average mph at the stats you gave) then the people around here.

I have a question. Can you hear the speakers over engine and wind noise?
I have considered a stereo for my cabbed tractor. But the engine is so loud I question whether I would hear it.

We don't drive too crazy... I baby it quite frankly!!! It's seen a little mud and some low level water but I'm not burying the thing in mud bogs or treating it like a boat Not for what they cost!!!!

The speakers are PLENTY loud. Frankly I have the music up at half volume most of the the time because any louder is uncomfortably loud even at 40 MPH down the gravel road. They would more than suffice in a tractor setting... I will say we had a "cheap" blue tooth speaker that was like 9 bucks that I tried first, it was not loud enough at all. The UE BOOM 2 is plenty loud and its water proof, dust proof, and temp proof/snow proof... our Walmart had them on clearance for 49.00 which is a steal... online I see they are generally 100 each. When they came out a couple years ago they were 200.00. You can link two together to play at the same time also which is nice. I believe one would be sufficient truly in a tractor setting where you didn't have anyone riding behind you, two would likely be overkill. Roughly 15 hours of battery life advertised... I find 12-13 on a single charge to be real world which is stellar.

Hope this helps. It was a heck of a lot cheaper than putting in a polaris stereo kit and this took me 5 minutes instead of 5 hours and frankly it sounds just as good and loud when next to machines that have the Stereo speakers wired into them....

Kubota makes a stereo and speakers for my cab. Tractor came with an antenna attached/wired. BUT installation of the radio/speakers would require pulling the rooftop off to run/hide the wires. Your solution is much more elegant.

Steele, dust is what I found even with an ATV. Not riding alone, but with the local club. I couldn't take it and I simply stopped. It would be nice if someone made a forced air full face mask that plugged into an outlet to allow the rider to breathe filtered air (eyes too), same as the machine does. I never found one, but that was over a decade ago when I was with the club. Things may have changed in the years since.

I wasn't so much concerned about the machine (it can be pressure washed), but for my own lungs.
