I precise, it's just my subjective perception. I am note an expert.
The brush have an excellent blooming. She is soft with thin air. A little, imperceptible scritch, but with a lot of pressure and very under than the B3 scritch. I precise, i love B3. The globally feeling, for me, it's a real pleasure to apply on m'y face.the softness is incredibles for me.
The thin air make me think of B13 but with backbone. Personnally , i don't like B13 because no backbone for me. For me it's between B5 ,B11 and perhaps B14 .
Or maybe an excellent alternative of B3 for those who dislike this knot. But for me B3 have is proper personnality. We love or we hate.
And i think B16 own toi IS own personnality toi. Like other great Legendary DG knot.
I love B16 . Exceptionnal shaving for me today.

Beautiful brush Oli. No worries on the English; it vastly better than my French. Nice review

That's a pretty cool pour there, still waiting on my SSB.  Im surprised to see he still has one of the colors still available from his last drop.  Used to be a time even his unpopular colors sold out in a couple hours.  People really must not be feeling that thaw pour.

I almost pulled the trigger on the SSB B16 but waited to long and it sold out. His brushes are not selling as fast as they use too. I think these days there are so many great brush makers and many of them sell theirs for less than $400 new. Top that with I have seen a quality control drop with DG brushes and I can see why they are not selling like they once did. All my DG brushes except one I have bought used as I find it an easy way to save money while still getting exceptional brushes. Even this Cold 2.0 B16 was never used by the original owner.

I'm considering buying another B16 but I am not sure as I have close to 50 brushes now and really don't have much more room to add new ones to the collection. If I sell a few I'm thinking of getting another B16. Maybe the Crown or Space Salmon as I don't think I'll find a SSB B16 for sale.

Nice post but disagree regarding quality declining.

Things go in waves; at moment, the chicane carrying Wald (which find odd). But the thing is, don't believe in the mass psychogenic spectacle that is the 'market'.

Believe it was Wilde that penned:

'Most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone else's opinions, their lives a mimicry, their passions a quotation.'.

And, yes, fully grasp the incongruity.

I think the reason is that there are some really good US based artisan knot makers now and there wasnt even 3 years ago.  They also dont have the same business models of minimum communication and getting what they feel like making at the time.  I find the quality of my last couple DG knots to be superior to even some of his that are peoples favorites.  IMO DG B15 is/was his best offering to date,  so much so I bought 2 and I dont generally buy 2 of the same types of knots.

That being said anyone who is collecting handles should give TNS and Allen Long a serious thought for something arguably just as nice as DG knots.  Even just getting knotting service from them is a more enjoyable expeirence than with DG and both of them will enthusitically talk with you through the entire process.

Wald and Varlet are there too but the main reason I dont mention them is they are hard to get, because they make 10 handles every 3 months and dont provide knotting services.

That looks so different than what I remember that color looking in the sample picture. Sweet looking brush.  Everyone talking about there B16 is making me excited to try it.

Well, Rudy is sending over a handle next week for knotting. I am pretty excited to see how this knot performs! Anybody know if it actually takes 4 weeks?

More often than not yes.  Sometimes longer.

Thanks, that makes some more sense now. He mentions that knotting is usually available, but he limits the numbers which sounded contradictory. So he must be releasing only as many as will maintain his cue at four weeks. Sounds pretty reasonable, Wolfman is at about six weeks right now. It's hard not to get excited after Rudy sent pictures of the handle. I am going to be right at 50% of what he charges for those 28mm brushes for my RV with 24mm knot, pretty happy about all this compared to some other options. Let's hope I like the B16 or somebody else is going to get to enjoy it at a discount!
