Underrated Shaving Stuff

What shaving stuff either hardware or software do you think is underrated and should be talked about more in the shaving circles/Forums/ You Tubers etc

I'm going to Throw TOBS peppermint shaving cream into the equation. Seen very little talk about it but for me it's a winner. Not mentholated but the peppermint oil really gives you a good face freeze more so than many mentholated soaps or creams

It's a love or hate thing with Arko and I'm definitely in the love camp. I actually like the smell and agree with you on performance

to me, the scent smells like citronella. when I think of citronella, I think of keeping the bugs away. lol....

I would say derbys. They get pooped on a lot. I know they are not the sharpest by any means, but they are so smooth and forgiving that they allow almost anyone the ability to jump into wet shaving and get a good shave. I just recently explored other blades and while I did find a lot that I liked more, I believe there will always be a spot for the derby in my den (that plus I have like 80 left). In the end give me derbys over a cartridge.

I basically agree with this.  They were the first blade I used that let me know just how great a DE shave could be over cartridges. However, where Derby blades began to lose their luster for me was in their quality control.  Some would be great and some pretty bad.  That's a shame really because when they were good they always gave me a quality shave.

Stirling Soaps, balms, and aftershave splashes. They seem to never get the attention they deserve. Their soaps are probably my favorite tallow-based soaps, though I do love me some Reef Point and, of course, Cella. They keep the prices affordable and they ship promptly, with good customer care. 

I agree about the older generation synthetic brushes. I have a Men-u synthetic I got maybe ten years ago. Great brush. Wouldn't buy it again because it's too damned expensive. Last time I looked it was nearly twice the cost of a Plisson. But a really good brush. 

Kiss My Face shaving creams. I heard about these from the Mad Scientist of Wet Shaving on youtube. They are inexpensive and superb. Wonderfully clean and natural ingredients.

Whipped Dog Shaving Brushes which are excellent brushes especially for the price, The Phoenix Double Open Comb razor from P.A.A. which is one of the best razors that I have tried and do not hear enough about, Mama Bear shave soaps which are a great value and perform beautifully, Stirling Soaps do not get enough attention IMO, Wholly Kaw shave soaps which for my money are superb in every way and do not get enough hype IMO, last but not least, Crabtree & Evelyn shaving creams are excellnt performers but I do not hear anything about them anywhere.

I agree wholeheartedly about the PAA DOC razor. The common complaints revolve around it being too mild, but I believe that is it's strength. Perhaps it isn't a daily shaver but when you need a BBS shave and are willing to spend 3-5 more minutes on buffering, it is my go to tool.

For soaps I nominate Pre de Provence-- great performance, great scent, great price. Proraso Green aftershave is really good and underrated (I feel like this is a support group). It is a great refreshing splash but doesn't sting or have excessive menthol.
