Hey guys, today I received some Japanese Schick Injector II blades. I was originally looking for the single blade, and on a whim checked the seller's store and found twins as well. Since shipping was already ginormous, I bought the twins as well.

My question is for the Schick heads here. Are there specific Types that can or cannot use these twin blades?

I appreciate any thoughts you may have!

The blades were designed specifically for almost all now vintage injectors made from 1972 upward. For Schicks those would be the 2nd version of the Type L razors and up. Those you can tell by the style of logo if they are 72 or later except for the one offs like the Schick Stick razors. Type M adjustables the ones made 72 and earlier will work with them but the ones with the protector feature which are 73 and up work better. The razors they will not work with are any ones with rinse levers like the Type K Lady Eversharps or the earlier Type I Hydromagics and Type J '500' razors. Gillette Trac II / Twinjectors only are designed specifically for these blades. Anything made earlier than 72 besides the rinse levers is hit or miss, the razor might be able to load the blade but may not shave well if at all with them.

Modern injector razors none are designed to use them and even if they can load them it will also be hit or miss if they will work well if at all.

Only way to know for sure is to try a blade across your injectors 1 or 2 shaves at a clip, just be careful removing the blade to not rub the cutting edge on the stops when you do. The blades aren't cheap compared to regular injector blades so you really don't want to be loading multiple razors with blades at the same time as you are dialing them in. On the plus side you can easily get 20 or more shaves out of a Schick Twin blade. I get about 23 5 pass shaves out of one blade.

The 2 razors I've found that work best with these blades are the Schick Type N injectors doesn't matter which handle style and Schick Type M adjustables with the protector feature on the guard. The protector feature is the lever on the same side as the guard that when you push it up it locks the guard from moving and also protects you from cutting your fingers if you grab it by the guard with a blade loaded. The Type M adjustables are the only razor I've found that work well with both Schick II twin blades and standard single edge injector blades. On Type N injectors they work best if you shave daily, couple of days growth and the blades clog easily and don't cut as close unless you do your first pass with something sharper to get the hair growth down.

BBS thanks so much! I will be copying your responses to a document on my laptop. But it does look like I will have to pick up a few more injectors! I thank you but my wallet, maybe not!  Big Grin
