Treet Blades AKA Butter Knife blades

Whenever I order soaps or aftershaves or anything related to Wet Shaving I always throw in a couple of packs of blades that I haven't tried before.  Even though I already have a favorite couple manufacturers of blades, there is a ton try and use out there.  In my last order I added Treet Silver blades and a couple others.  These things are SO BAD I literally took out the blade after two passes and added another thinking maybe I got a dud out of the gate.... second blade two passes, the whole pack went in the garbage.. these are the dullest blades I have ever used out of the 25 or so different blades I have shaved with.... terrible... a butter knife is sharper... seriously...

Which Treets? They make a few varieties. I've tried the Treet Dura-Sharp and Treet Platinum and they were both good blades for me, not great but pretty good. Just like any other brand of blades, some people love them, some hate them, and some think they're just okay.

Treet Silver

the treet new steel are imo a really nice blade.

I believe the only Treet blades that I've used were the Treet Classic. Other than being carbon steel and a non-starter for me, I remember them as being a decent blade.

Like most things shaving, YMMV.

The only one I like is the legendary "Black Beauty" carbon steel blade. It is however purely a "love it or despise it" proposition.

I haven't tried the Silvers. Classics were OK for me. They have a pretty bad reputation from what I've read, so I was a bit surprised that I liked them as much as I did.

I go along with BPman. The Black Beauty blades are really good for the first shave. I might use it for its second shave today.

The "Black Beauty" blades were always a nice change-up blade for me. For me, they are one and done blades. I only paid $0.08/blade for them and they're carbon steel, so I've always been OK with that. As BPman said, they seem to be "love it or despise it" blades, it seems.

I haven't tried the Treet Silvers, though.

Count me in the "despise 'em" camp for the black beauties. It felt like the hairs were being plucked out one by one. I made like 2 or 3 strokes and had to change to a different blade. Awful!
