I would be interested in lightly scented options, but it's all so subjective! After trying the Grooming Dept. Mumtaz and being overcome by the scent, my preference has swung hard to the other direction.

I wish it was easier and less costly to sample. Maybe some day I'll drive up to Pastuers and smell some stuff Smile

I’m always going to Pasteur’s, too. We should carpool. Haha!

Thank you for the offer! I sent you an email with my info and request for additional recommendations.

I’m closer than that, about 30 minutes or so. I’ll check my email when I get home. I’m about 20-30 minutes from a train to NY Penn Station which I believe is about 10-15 minutes from Pasteur’s.

i've been pleased with two unscented/low-scent soaps: GD's Pura and the Ethos Clean sample. They're both extrodinary. Te Pura has a very slight honey note likely due to the inclusion of beeswax. The Ethos is near scentless to my nose.

Now that I've a supply of those, I've shifted to finding scented soaps that move the needle for me without being overpowering. I'm exploring Wholly Kaw, Noble Otter, A&E and Barrister & Man. I'm enjoying opening up my scope to more top tier makers to find enjoyable scents.

I’ve found most A&E soaps to be pretty strong on the scent scale, are you experiencing that?
You might try Zingari as well, very nice scents but none that I’ve tried have been overpowering at all. Very good performance as well.

jesseix - I've found that the A&E St. Bart's and newly tried Aqua de Boracay have a moderate scent during lathering and then subtly hang around for several hours after the shave provided I don't put on another skincare product like moisturizer. So far, I've been pleased with the initial scent strength and post-shave longevity. I don't typically use any other scented products after I shave. I shave at night a few hours before bed. Before I go to sleep I'll apply non-scented Paula's PM Moisturizer.

I have samples of A&E Choco Cuban and The Undersea to try along with some Noble Otter Monoi de Taihiti and Noir et Vanille.

I ordered the samples from Maggard's along with three empty containers:
I also got a bit of Noble Otter Monarch - pleasant powdery scent, diminishes overnight
Noble Otter Firefighter - nice scent, but I'm not really a fan of the grapefruit so my wife is going to use it up Smile
Wholly Kaw - King of Oud - was nice initially, but hung around longer than I'd prefer and convinced me I wasn't a fan of this formulation of oud "essence"

All in all, I'm enjoying trying various scents from these makers who already are well know for their exceptional soap bases.

After I work through more of these I intend to try more of Ethos' soaps - just picked up their Kailuha to try. The unscented sample I received from them has a noticeably creamier, more dense lather than the other soaps I have.

I will also get some Zingari as part of the next phase of sample trials...maybe in a several months Smile
