Very surprised that no one has mentioned Canada Shaving Soap. A year or so ago when I started diving down the scent rabbit hole I decided I wanted to have unscented soaps and tried a fair number including most of those that have been mentioned here. Canada Shaving astonished me and still does. Probably one of my top two soaps, period. Fabulous all around. After that I would probably go with A&E The Recipe, the Kaizen A&E base that is unscented (which I like better than Ultima base Unmasked) and Ethos Clean, another close step down. But Canada is the bomb for me.

If you want longevity, as others have said, move towards EDTs and EDPs. Which is an endlessly deep rabbit hole. However, I’ve found two aftershaves that have real perfume staying power:  Ariana & Evans and Summer Break Soaps.  The former splashes always packs massive longevity but, for me, they have too much glycerine and I don’t always agree with the scent profiles.  Summer Break soaps, however, are - to me - fabulous smelling. And do last for hours. These days they are about the only scented splash that I will pair with expensive parfums. They don’t get enough credit around here, in my opinion.

A question for you folks: is there a tallow based soap that does not have a scent?

It is my understanding that the principle purpose of scent in a tallow soap is to mask the scent of the tallow, which otherwise some might find offensive.

So, if there is a non-scented tallow soap, doesn't it stink?

Maybe it’s not masked but it’s in the way the soap is processed or in the tallow sources.  No idea, but I don’t smell any tallow.  I pick it up in just about any other base.
