Between my SR shaves I have extensively been testing different blades in some of my DE's. The perfect match for my 0.61 WR1 is the Timor. Hands down. Shave after shave it always gives me the same result. Smooth, efficient, BBS and my face always feels a delight post shave. I can go to town buffing with no ill effect. They say when you hit the right gap on a Wolfman you'll know. Paired with the Timor that's exactly what I experience. Interestingly enough the Timor does not perform the same for me in a 1.15 and 1.05 WR2. It totally under performs in the 1.15 and does better in the 1.05 but nowhere near what I experience with the WR1. I'm still trying to find that perfect blade to match the WR2. The Voskhod and Gillette Blue so far are ahead of the pack.

Funny thing how blades perform differently in different razor models even from same artisan. Find Timors work magic in BBS1, WR1 and WR2 for me. However, have found Gillette Nacets are quite good in WR1 but atrocious in the BBS1. Odd as hell but there you have it!

Indeed. A strange phenomena. As to Nacets. They shred my skin apart. Bleeders and weepers. Can't use them in any DE.

Then you are obviously either using a razor too "aggressive" for your needs, using pressure or bad technique. All DE blades are for all intents & purposes the same length. No blade can get any closer to your skin than another as that is set by the blade gap on a razor. Hone angles do vary, but that won't cut you in & of itself. What razor are you using?

Are you absolutely sure about ALL DE blades being same size? I thought about it hard but maybe I can remember (maybe) Feather or Kai may be a bit bigger. I absolutely could be wrong but anyway, I was going to ask in this thread an important question. Who are the vendors that sell Timors in high volume?

Next time we meet, I’ll bring you some Timors. Smile

I believe Kai blades are ever so slightly wider than most other DE blades. Which makes them the perfect blade for my otherwise mild Timeless Titanium 0.68 mm.

Max Sprecher , in my last shave I am using the aluminum clone of WR1 WM with a Timor for my cleanup pass and it is really nice. So maybe that is something that is interesting but what would you say is your 2nd best blade in your WR1?

I love Voskhod blades. They do well for me. I would say they are my overall preferred and the ones I end up using the most in the WR2 1.05 or 1.15. They also perform the best for me in my WR1 .61 after the Timor.

They are WIDER, not longer. Width is meaningless as regards the actual shave.

Kai are indeed wider from sharp edge to sharp edge.
