I got the scalloped head last week. The craftsmanship and finish are excellent, on par with any other current maker. It is a really, really well made razor. I loved the large holes in the base plate as clogging or rinsing weren't an issue. I was skeptical at first of the large blade gap due to my skin type, and unfortunately my fears were realized as it just didn't agree with me. However, I think for people who like that much blade feel (R41, H1, etc) it's a homerun. I actually returned mine and Mark at timeless couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. He also said that they are getting ready to release a more mild head soon and I'll definitely be picking one up.

That does seem like a large blade gap, however razor looks great. If they make a milder razor I would most certainly buy one.

Yeah, I am going to keep watching for a milder version too.

I have tried enough razors to know what does and doesn't work for me. Since I shave every day too an uber effective razor just isn't worth the money to me just to admire right now.

I can get good results with almost any razor, but in the morning and in a hurry I have to have something that doesn't require a lot of focus.

Is that what the huge holes in the base plate are for, to stop clogging? That's a great idea, I was wondering if it was supposed to just be a unique look.

Is the scalloped head on par with the R41 or a little to the left... I've got one in the way. Looking forward to a nice relaxed Saturday am shave.

I like the R41 quite a bit myself but find the Timeless to be a smoother shave.

Enjoy!

Has anyone compared all 3 heads? Is there really much of a discernable difference? I'd love to get a timeless at some point, but still trying to decide on which head.

I have not but will buy the scalloped head. Only holding off to see what other handles may be in the works [I had asked Doug if they could spin up an Aristocrat style].

What I can say is that the OC is one of the finest shavers I own and an absolute pleasure to use.

I am collecting thoughts for a more comprehensive review but have been a little sidetracked with a move into our new house. Will post in the near future though.

I'll follow along for sure. I hear great things. It is high on my "will save up for" list. I am also watching to see what handles they will come up with. I am leaning towards scalloped or SB version, but as you say the OC version also gets glowing reviews

I see that the reduced gap came through.

Order placed.
