Timeless 95 SB: First Shave Assessment (GODLY)

I have a question if someone can help. I own a Wolfman .67 SB SS but I want to up the efficiency and I’m thinking of purchasing the .86 gap when I get a chance. Also I want to experience a bit more blade feel. I also own a karve razor the C plate which is a  .85 gap a shy of the Wolfman .86. By looking at both razors the head geometry looks quite similar. The Karve C is perfect for me in terms of efficiency and blade, would you say the Wolfman .86 feels the same at Karve C plate?

This would help me massively if someone has experience both with razor/gaps. It’s not easy to purchase a Wolfman directly. I just want to make the right decision when I gets the chance.

The Karve gap is slightly deceiving as far as blade feel because the blade is slightly recessed. I have the Wolfman .61, .74 and .94 in the WR1 head I had the Karve D,E & F plate I would say the 74 Wolfman shaved very close to the E plate and the F was not as efficient as the 86 which I sold to a friend. I think if you really like the feel of the Karve C plate I would go with a Wolfman WR1 .74 or WR2 .98 which I got to try thanks to LOOT

Thanks for the info really appreciate it. I also have the Karve D & E plate which are slightly harsh in blade feel but I can get very good shave but I have to be carful with the pressure. It certainly sounds deceiving. I will definitely will go with the .74 when I get the chance. Thanks

I have the .61 OC and the Karve F. The Karve is more efficient, but the Wolfman has more blade feel. The efficiency is very similar if I add a shim to the Wolfman.

I have some interest in buying a Timeless but the options are confusing. I didn't hear a lot of talk in this thread about the brass version which apparently is equally as good and is an updated design (or so some say). I just can't begin to guess as to which one would work best for me. I wish I could pay a rental fee and try a set of three plates to figure it out.

I know your feeling. But luckily, they do offer a 30 day return policy and I know many folks buy a 68 and a 95 baseplate to see which they prefer and return the one they dont like, for a refunds less $10 return fee (which isnt bad at all)

I may end up doing precisely that... I still wonder how the brass version plays into all of this (two levels of aggression are now available).

The .38mm blade gap on the brass left me wondering. No experience with it though. That was the last I read about it and maybe they have more aggressive plates now.

Update: I was able to buy a used Wolfman 61 SB Head only, and in due time after using them, I will be able to compare with the Timeless (probably closer to the 68 rather than 95). it's not exactly the gap I wanted but it will get me to try Wolfman and I could try trading if it's too mild. Looks like December will be an amazing Months for shaving : )

I will definitely do that comparison with both the Timeless 68 and 95. But I must say, it will be a hard time for the Wolfman to beat my new gold standard, the timeless 95. But I hope I'm surprised!
