Its not like I'm in shortage of razors... considering I have 8 of them of the following:

1. Razorock Wunderbar
2. Rockwell 6s
3. Fatip Grande Gold
4. Fatip Gentile Black
5. Pearl OC TTO
6. Pearl CC TTO
7. Maggard V3a with Scotch and Stove Chubby matte handle
8. GEM OC, liking this one so far and been trough 4-5 shaves on the GEM Blue blade and I think the blade is sort of losing its sharpness.
- Preordered the Rockwell Model T
- Thinking of getting on the Wolfman list

After having all these razors I do wondered about the Gillette adjustable ones, but being a cheapo and getting one that's used and abused, plating wrecked, need of replating , even if I required one that is really cheap at maybe $25-$30 shipped I would still need replating which would of bring thee razor cost from 100-230 depending on which plating you go with.... So every time I see very good Gillette Adjustable in very good condition or NOS they go from 120-4000 bucks... yea that wasn't going to happen. Saw one couple of days a go on ebay, don't have the full packaging but it does look like new, no dents, no dings, well preserved plating, numbers have fresh black color and seller has 100% on his reviews and offers returns. So I bid on it and I got it for like $56, hope it shaves as good as it looks and hope it don't have any manufacture issues.

Should of looked here first I could have sold you a Fat Boy, Slim, or Black Beauty for a lot cheaper than that in perfect condition.

That's a nice looking Slim. Well done! I hope you like it--I have not yet been able to get a good shave from a Gillette, whether it's a Slim adjusted to 9, a Red Tip, a New long comb, a New short comb, an Old thin cap, an Old thick cap, etc. On the other hand, Gem SE blade razors like the 1924 Shovelhead, 1914, British 1912 or (as you've experienced) MMOC are vintage bliss. Good hunting on your journey!

That is a good-looking Slim. I hope you get on with it and good luck. Shy

Personally, I have never enjoyed any of the Gillette TTOs. They just don't work for me.

Nice razor and I hope you enjoy it. I have a number of Gillettes and love them. I must be the odd one out here but I get great shaves with them. I have a Maggards open comb, and a couple others but it is my Gillettes that get used the most.

Very nice, enjoy it! I have found out, for me, the key to get great shaves with a slim or a fatboy is technique.

Remind you, I said "for me", before the peanut gallery get their undies in a bunch, lol....

I get some of my best shaves with vintage Gillettes. Specifically the Old Types, News and Aristocrats. As for adjustables, the black beauty has worked a lot better for me than the slim. I hope you can find the ones that work best for you. It's a fun area to explore. Oh and regarding replates, I have yet to do it and I still fully enjoy my old razors, blemishes and all. Not to say I will never do it, but I definitely don't think it is required, for me at least.

I have 4 DE razors...Old Type thick cap, Super Speed, Slim, and Maggards V3. I get fantastic shavea with all 4. The SS and Slim on #5 are my go to razors when Im in a rush or just want a fast, easy BBS.

For my Gillettes...I paid $50 combined for all 3 from different sources...
