I have been very impressed with the performance and scent from Tim's Soap. I've been using Clean Cut for a couple months, which happens to be one of my all time favorite scents. When I heard he introduced a new line called Green Label I went to his site and bought one immediately. I chose Cypress because it was on sale for $9.95, plus the scent profile sounded just as good to me as Citrus Blossom, the only other scent in the line at present. Now on to the review.
Cypress Review
Ingredients:
Soy wax (hydrogenated soybean oil), water, coconut oil, potassium hydroxide, kokum butter, castor oil, sodium hydroxide, fragrance (essential oils and plant absolutes), sodium lactate, sodium citrate
Performance:
The description for Green Line says the lather is every bit as good as the original line and I agree. I face lathered using my Thater 4125/2 bulb 3 band. The lather was easy to build and didn't require too much water. Stability was great and the lather remained well hydrated throughout the shave while providing excellent slickness and protection. As with the original line, the lather is very thick and cushiony and has a near identical appearance. The shave went perfect with no cuts or nicks.

A traditional chypre (Cyprus), this coniferous woody (cypress) blend leads off with an accord of lemon, bergamot, and lavender. Basenotes of cedar, patchouli, labdanum, and oakmoss absolute provide an earthy balance to the brave, bright opening. Present throughout is the heart of hardy conifers, including cypress and juniper berry. Cypress really blooms when lathered, so that its full complexity comes through over the course of a shave. A contemplative, deep fragrance, Cypress is meant to give the impression of sunlight filtering through tree limbs to reach the forest floor. If ever a scent could unseat Roots as my favorite, this is it.
Cypress is a wonderful scent which to my nose matches perfectly to the scent description above. All of the fragrances blend together in perfect harmony. The lemon and bergamot stand out immediately and the woody and earthy scents round the scent out nicely. Tim continues to impress me with his exceptional fragrance design and I wouldn't mind trying them all eventually.
I don't like rating soaps so I will just say it is an excellent soap in both performance and scent. Tim's Soaps are a must try imho.
