I had my first shave with a B7 today, a ‘Peach’ Jefferson. The hair in this Knot is right up my alley. I actually prefer a more natural hair to ‘gel’ tip hair. The tips on my Knot are hooked, but definitely no ‘gel’. The hair in my B7 has soft tips, and plenty of backbone. I felt zero scritch in my Shave today, outstanding. This knot is ideal for me.

I’ve usd ShaveMac Two Band Silvertip. To me, the B7 has equally soft tips, but more backbone. Hope this helps.

I have a B3, 2 B5’s and a B6. The B6 is the best Brush I have ever owned and that is saying a lot!!

I have B3, B6 and B7. I have been using one of my B7 brushes for the last couple weeks and went back to a broken in B6 today for reference. If I had to judge B6 vs B7, I would give the B6 the nod by a very small margin. The gel tips are nice on the B6, but the B7 is no slouch, gel tips or not!

What I love about all Declaration Grooming knots is that they are no less than the advertised size knot, but often run a size bigger. My 26mm are closer to 28mm knots, for example. I also have a 28mm B6 that is closer to a 30mm. And I don't mind at all finding an artisan to make a handle to my liking for the knotting service.

They definitely are. I transplanted a 26mm b5 and had to open the hole on the new handle quite a bit to get the knot to fit in.

Let's bring this thread back to life. I'd like to hear everyone's opinion on the B7 knots compared to the B8 and B9a/b

I take it B7 knots weren't for you? Have you tried the B8 and 9a/b knots?

I had one B7 out of 3 that was worth keeping around for a while. Eventually I ended up selling it as it still didn’t compare to 5/6. B8 was a mild improvement. I’ve used b9b and it was fine. Better than 7 and 8. Mind blowing like 5 or 6? Not for me.
