Winner of a shave today. Man I love this Easy Aces! The software and hardware combined to deliver a fantastic three pass BBS. A massive glug of AS and I left the shave den feeling and smelling amazing.

Take your time with the hone. Im in no rush. I was hoping to get some honing in this past weekend but I got my second shot of the vaccine on Friday and it hit me pretty hard. I did get some time to watch honing videos if that counts. Big Grin

Thanks Dave! That was one of the very last handles that I cast and turned before packing everything up. I was actually going for a modified ghost jade, and that one was about my third attempt. It came out looking a lot more like turquoise but I fell in love with it right away. It's amazing how little dye it takes to color these. On the other two I literally dipped the very tip of a toothpick into the green dye and even that was too much. I had to wipe most of it off to get it how that one came out.

4/22 SOTD

Razor: Ender's Speed Razor
Blade: Taconic injector
Brush: TSC 2nd Anniversary
Soap: Wholly Kaw Fougere Bouquet
Aftershave: Wholly Kaw Fougere Bouquet
First time using the Ender's today, with an insert that allows it to take injector blades that was sent to me by a good friend, Dave in KY. This is a pretty impressive shaver that can be found on the cheap. It is very intuitive, and makes it tough to nick yourself while still giving an close and efficient shave. Got a nice two pass with some clean up BBS while enjoying the scent and performance of this fantastic soap. It makes me think of a somewhat earthy Clubman. Great stuff for sure.

4/24 SOTD

Razor: Rockwell 6c
Blade: Wizamet
Brush: Sorrentino Turquoise
Soap: CBL Orion California Sunrise
Aftershave: CBL Tonic
EDP: Amouage Sunshine Man

After seeing the SOTD from Dave in KY I realized I haven't grabbed this frag in a while, and that is a shame, so today's shave was more about the scent than anything. The Rockwell 6c is my go-to when I either can't decide which shaver I want to go with or when I want an easy BBS. Put the 4 plate on it and it is the the absolute best razor I have ever used for a shave that doesn't require much concentration but gives an excellent result every time. Got a fantastic two pass + clean up BBS. A bit of the tonic and a couple sprays of Sunshine to cap it off. Such...amazing...juice! Smells fantastic and I can still smell it about 15 hours later. It was a hit at Euchre last night.

4/26 SOTD: There can be only one.....or can there?

Razor: GEM 1912
Blade: Personna
Brush: Sorrentino Turquoise
Soap: Gentleman's Nod Sir Arthur
Aftershave: Gentleman's Nod Sir Arthur

This is the one I've been waiting for. I was perusing the Bullgoose site and came across this soap/as. The description was remarkably similar to one of my absolute favorite shave soap scents, Asylum Shave Works Royal Fougere, which was a mix of Penhaligon's English Fern and Geo F Trumper's Wild Fern. Both frags were mentioned in the description of Sir Arthur, so I tossed it in the cart immediately with high hopes that it would at least be close to my beloved unobtanium. They arrived today along with a 100 pack of Personna SE blades, so I dug out my 1912 and hopped into the shave den.

Oh man, I wouldn't be surprised if the exact same fragrance was used in this as in Royal Fougere. They are so close as to be almost indistinguishable to my nose, and I had them open right next to one another. The scent strength is up there as well, which thrilled me. The only question left was...how does it perform? The brush was loaded and I took my time face lathering. It was a pretty thirsty soap and the lather I ended up with was, while not as voluminous as I generally prefer, very dense, creamy, and SLICK. I haven't used the 1912 in a very long time. It was my "it" razor for quite a while, and today it reminded me why. Two passes and some clean up gifted me with a fantastic BBS, though it did punish me for setting it aside for so long with a nick on my upper lip. Small price to pay for such a great overall experience and it closed right up with the application of the alum block. A very hefty glug of the aftershave proved to be a bit of overkill. I wasn't paying a lot of attention to the ingredients, but there is apparently a good amount of witch hazel in it and my face ended up being pretty tacky for a while. I don't think the scent longevity is quite what I was getting from the Royal Fougere, but that is no biggie. I'll take what is left of the Royal Fougere AS, pop it in a bottle with an atomizer, and use it as a cologne. It is more than strong enough and lasts all day.

Also in today's Mail Call, a Valet Autostrop that was sent to me by Dave in KY. Many thanks Dave! I'm looking forward to putting it through it's paces. Once I figure out how to load the blade..Tongue

Congrats on the score and give me a minute. I'll be right back for the blade load.

Here ya go on how to despine a gem blade and what to snip and then how to load. Careful with the missing blade stop. Don't mind Fuzzy, he's a character !
