V3 is completely different from Proraso IMO. Not even close.

I've read it constantly in the last year or so. It inevitable come up. Every time I read it I know its just a rationalization trying to compare a $10 item to a $71 item. Some people want to think they are getting something for nothing and just kid themselves.

SMN is on my list for soaps to have and I can't see Proraso being in the same league at all. Most people rate it up with, if not better than, Xpec, ABC, Nuavia and other luxury brands and Proraso just isn't in that class.

NeoXerxes my SV Cosmo came today, it's worth a try, I know you were thinking about it. I think you will like the scent, it's very classy.

It's probably on the border line of being luxury but would love to see a review.

Thanks for this shot mate! What a beautiful lather Smile.

I'd certainly be interested in trying Cosmo and will do so ASAP (buried under projects right now). My only experience with SV was with Colonia, which was nice (worthy of mention in this thread) but not quite in my top tier. The new 4.2 formula is said to offer an improvement. Did you notice any performance advancements over previous editions?

I have only tried one of the original SV soaps ages ago and I can't even remember which one. I didn't think it was that good and never got round to buying anymore. This one drew me in with its fantastic looks more than anything and I liked the sound of the scent. Turns out it's a very nice soap, good performance and the post shave left my face feeling very good.

I will add this is the first aftershave of theirs I have used and it is very nice too Smile

It's now on my list Smile. I'd also be interested in trying the aftershave since it seems to have a nice ingredients list.

I applied the aftershave close to 24 hours ago and up until about midday today I could still smell it. It obviously stays on the skin for some time although it doesn't seem that strong to others around me...I asked....impressed with the longevity.

I got the soap on Saturday but have not used yet- great feedback Oli!

I am with you in that previous "versions" of the soap were Ok but not great. Looking forward to trying this latest.

When does a Beta cycle end by the way? Wink

kwsher, I'd love to hear your impressions when you give it a shot! I'm hoping it's a big improvement over previous formulas.

Seems like the beta will never end :p.
