Although I have not tried it as I rarely use a double edge but I read that WD 40 will quickly remove water and leave a non greasy protective coating on the blade.
It is also supposed to be non toxic.

That's what the WD in the WD40 stands for... "Water Displacing" and the rest means that it was the 40th formula tested. Basically it's deodorized kerosene, and isn't a protectant. If one wants a protectant, after displacing the water it must get treated with something designed to protect. I don't know if I'd want it on my skin or in my sink.

OK, how do I now this? Many years ago I shot Bullseye competition. After each match I would clean my revolver with, you guessed it, WD40. At one match after a week of the gun being in the case I opened it up and found the beginnings of rust on my beautiful S&W K38. I mentioned it to a fellow shooter and he immediately asked if I used WD40. Thus began my education regarding it.

10th SEptember Shave
Proraso Green Pre/Post
Plissoft Synthetic 22mm knot in an E Shave handle
Van Yulay Durham Green
GEM Micromatic Open Comb
Gem stainless steel PTFE (Shave 9)
Thayers Superhazel with Proraso Green Pre/post Followed with Proraso/Osage Rub splash

My Face feels Fantastic. With 3.5 Days growth it was a toss up between the MMOC and Shovel head. I just haven't used my MM's as much as I should. The balance and feel really work well for me. The PTFE is still going strong, mowed right through the tough stubble. Nailed the Lather as well, took a good amount of water (adding it slowly from the start) I ended up with enough for 4+ passes if needed. Although I probably could have even gotten away with only 1 pass tonight, but why, it had been over 3 Days since the last shave.

There are also the Japanese Schick blades and Twins as well. I have tried one of the standard ones that came with a razor, it was great

Hey, how do the Japanese Schicks compare to the Chinese Schicks. Are they worth paying twice as much for? Sharper? Smoother?
I'd say much sharper, maybe a little bit smoother. I'd say the twins are worth it. But Chinese Schicks are still very good and much cheaper, while still being pretty pricey as far as blades go. Other than the twins, I'd say don't fret about getting them

SOTD-21sep16:
ATT SE1 w/Hempel Ti Handle / Feather AC Pro
Shavemac 2-Band Silvertip
Nuavia Rossa

I think this Feather blade is done. The last two shaves have been sub-par, with this shave being the worst of the two. Fortunately, Nuavia saved the shave to being just "not as efficient due to the blade" as opposed to "my face hurts due to the blade." Rossa smells great too!

I've been sticking with SE's all month, but I have neglected to post every one over here in this thread. I usually post a SOTD in the "Shave of the Day" thread, though. It's been fun and I have a few more SE's that I would like to pull out before the end of the month. Big Grin (And, maybe beyond!)

Here is a good deal on some vintage Personna blades, but the guy doesn't ship to Canada.  I don't know if they are any better than the current ones.

Somebody got a smoking deal on these! That was cheaper than sticker price. I hope someone here got them. I was watching those, but never did bid. I already have a pretty decent cache of NOS blades, so I ask myself, "When is enough, enough?"

I really like these NOS Personna Super Platinum Chrome injector blades. These were the blades that Personna produced after they stopped making the 74's. Some speculate that they are the same blades. YMMV!
