I first started with a Mongoose and I enjoyed the shave so much that I started to acquire other single edges. Such as the Gem Jr, Damaskeene, EverReady 14,24, Valet VC1and VC3, Ever Ready lather catcher which I think was made around 1907, and a few Wedge blade razors like the Rolls Razor and Wilkinson Empire and Pall Mall.

I must say my favorite to shave with as of this moment is the Damaskeene. I get very close and comfortable shaves with it loaded with a PTFE. A close second would be my Rolls Razor

So yes count me in.

Oh, one of my favorite acquisitions. It is a French wedge blade razor. Very mild, Superb shave
Awesome! I have yet to get into wedge blades. I hear that rabbit hole is deep haha. I've been on the search for a dameskeene actually. But when I find them at a good price I can't justify the purchase. It will work out eventually

Yes the rabbit hole is extremely deep. I find wedge blade razors history very fascinating. Quite frankly I don't understand why they didn't stick around. Maybe King had something to do with that. Good luck finding a Damaskeene I only have one if I had another I would send it to you

Thank you for the kind theoretical offer Smile I'll get one someday

1912 GEM Damaskene
1914 Ever-Ready
British Ever-Ready Featherweight (the equivalent of the American GEM Featherweight)
Shcick E Injector
Schick I Hydro-Magic Injector
Schick Adjustable Injector (my favorite of my Schick Injectors)
STAR lather catcher
1907 Ever-Ready lather catcher
(also, six other lather catchers I have in my collection but do not use).

If you can get your hands on a lather catcher like my 1907 Ever-Ready, seen below, then definitely give it a try.  It is a very different experience that I love.  The razor and blade sing like a straight, I get nice close shaves with it, and I love the idea that I am using a razor that is more than 100 years old and always wonder what its journey was like until I was fortunate enough to get it.

Very gorgeous lather catcher! What is the number on your E type? I have a type I as well, but is the model that does not have the hydro magic head

I'm not quite sure about the E's number.  Sorry. Sad  As for my Hydro-Magic, it is the least favorite of my Injectors.  While I love being able to clean up the razor because of the drop down plate, it is simply too mild for me and I don't get a close shave with it.  I don't have that trouble with the E or the Adjustable.

Very interesting. Have a picture of the E type?

I found a few photographs and apologize for their poor quality.

Looks like an E4 to me. But I'm no expert at all when it comes to identifying razors. But I'm relatively sure it is an E4. Made in the US or Canada?

I thought it was earlier than that (1 or 3) but genuinely do not know so will accept your thoughts on it.

I just checked the razor and it is clearly stamped, "Made in U.S.A."
