I will post my thoughts once I use it for a few shaves, this is my first modern SE. I'm excited to see what the AC shave is like, I hope it lives up to the hype for me.

I haven't shaved with any vintage SE's other than my Schick L1 lately. But today i felt the need to try the Clog Pruf for the 2nd time. The first time wasn't the greatest experience for me but I am still new to wet shaving and I'm sure my technique caused my dissatisfaction with the first shave. Today's shave was significantly better...no tugging and only slight irritation. I had thought about selling the Clog Pruf because it was getting very little use but after today's shave, I may have to keep it around a while longer Smile

The Clog Pruf is excellent! Keep using it and hone in that technique and it will give you wonderful shaves

Thanks for the words of encouragement whiteboy_cannon! I used it again this morning and got mixed results. When I applied the alum block, there was zero irritation even with an ATG pass...obviously, this is the good news. Bad news was that I had tremendous trouble getting a large area of my neck and jawline to FS, let alone DFS status. I finally grabbed my trusty L1 to get it everything cleaned up. Oh well, I'm sure it's just a matter of time before I figure it out

Hi SE Gang, I've been wondering about SEs for a while now, mostly wondering why people use them when there are so many options available in the DE world in both blades and razors and the SE choices seem limited and relatively more expensive. I'm genuinely interested in hearing SE shaver's point of view. I understand that some people just like one thing or another but there has to be good reasons folks who use these razors seem to love them. I see them as half of a DE razor at more of the cost. Its not like the cut throat shavers, thats a whole different way of life. I'm just searching for enlightenment.
Thanks,
Mark

SE blades are more rigid, and thus tend to be more efficient, regardless of the razor used. SE blades also tend to last way longer. I get 3-4x the amount of shaves that I typically get with any DE blade
