Thanks for the explanation! Big Grin

And, if that's the case, than does the hot water make those same muscles relax? I mean, it still would hydrate the hair and skin, but the hair tried to realx against the skin more instead of standing up, which you make happen instead with the brush and lather. At least that's how I thought it through Tongue

That's kind of my thought. My anatomy knowledge only goes so far. Perhaps a theoretical physicist can stop by to further explain things. Tongue

Cold water shaves are great except I don't really enjoy cold water on my face. For me I'll save it for the summer. Though I can say I do get a close irritation free shave with cold water every time.

Put your alcohol based splashes in the freezer. I always keep some Aqua Velva Ice Blue in my freezer.

I tried it once and the shave was BBS with no irritation but it didn't feel right.

Try warm water for lathering and rinsing your razor and cold water for rinsing your face. That's what I did for last several months with great results. Lately I've been using cold water for everything and it works great too but I sometimes turn the water to warm for rinsing the razor to keep my face from being so cold. If using a mentholated soap like Margaritas in the Arctic the cold water intensifies the menthol to the point of a face freeze and it's just too much for me so I use warm water for lather and razor rinse on those shaves as well, but always cold water rinses.

Ah, see, I'm a cold weather kind of guy, I like feeling cool over hot or warm. So I love the face freeze! When the menthol is strong enough to make your eyes water, I'm happy Big Grin lol

Just don't do this with osage orange - I can only imagine. Actually this might make a good video. I'm on it.

No other way for me but cold water shaving. It's refreshing and helps to sooth skin and razor bumps.
